About ES Tilley

ES Tilley is an up-and-coming author aka Essential Lyrics an adult poet. She was born in Columbus, OH, but can call many towns her home. Her passion for writing and her interest in child development has driven her to create this website.

ES Tilley believes in the power of storytelling and its ability to bring people together and empower their growth.

E.S. Tilley has spent most of her k-12 schooling with the Cedar Rapids, IA school district. She was involved with volleyball, #1 club, and Soul Control step group. She was a student at Kirkwood Community College where she majored in Human Services and interned for Cornerstone a non-profit for teen up to mid-20 parents where she was in charge of their parent library and a mentor that started their reading program that national libraries duplicated. She sat on the parent board of Headstart and was a parent liaison to the boards of other non-profit organizations in the area. She finished her Social Work degree at Kansas City Kansas Community College in Kansas City, KS where she volunteered at Meals on Wheels and Boys and Girls Club and interned at Mattie Rhodes. She was nominated for ambassador, on the President's List and National Dean's List and participated in the AASU and Student Forum. She transferred to Park University for Social Psychology and Rockhurst University for Non-Profit Management where she was on the National Dean's List interned for the National Youth Information Network and American Humanics.

She has 4 children and 6 grandchildren and worked for many employers.
